Intro To Programming

Back to course description.

This course is for you if:

  • you had little or nothing to do with programming before.

  • you are willing to put in the effort of learning and practicing the concepts on your own to get a deeper understanding.

  • you are speaking English at a medium level at least.

  • you want to understand what software development is all about.

  • you are looking for an entry level software developer role.

Q1: Is the course recognized by any institution?

A1: No. The course was created based on my experience as a software developer since 2005 when I wrote my first line of code (see my bio).

Q2: Do I get a diploma/certificate after finishing it?

A2: Given the course is not recognized by institutions, this is not a requirement. You will leave with something more valuable compared with other courses which are selling diplomas: pure skill to pass the technical interview for any entry level programming job. However, in the near future we want to add a certificate of completion if this is demanded from our participants. If we decide to do it, all previous participants will also get one.

Q3: If I get no certificate of completion, how do I prove I attended the course?

A3: The attendance usually doesn't mean too much to a potential employer. What is important during a technical interview is the knowledge you have and the attitude. It is not enough to flash a certificate of completion in the eyes of the interviewer, you need to prove you know what you are talking about by answering the technical questions and have a growth mindset. This is exactly what this course is all about.

Q4: Can I join the course if I have not technical background?

A4: Yes, assuming you are a basic computer user (e.g. install programs, use the browser, email, online shopping etc.). Either way, check it out and see how it goes. It's free and you have nothing to lose.

Q5: Are these courses affiliated with any companies?

A5: No, this is a personal project, developed based on my experience as a developer/interviewer/technical lead/manager (see my bio). We do intend in the near future to make some deals with companies to help participants to a first interview faster. However, currently, there is no such deal in place.

Q6: Do I need to pay for the first part?

A6: No, it's 100% free, no credit card required. You can start for free right now.

Q7: Am I forced to join the full course after completing the first part?

A7: Not at all. If you decide that the first part made sense for you and you'd like to continue, you can. If you don't want to or would like to continue learning from other sources, that's also fine. Start for free right now.

Q8: I'm having a problem accessing the first part. What can I do?

A8: Please contact us and let us know the email address used for creating your Teachable account.
